For Expedition Leaders
"Amazingly well planned itinerary... very smoothly executed... [The] team were amazing as usual, our guides couldn't do enough"
FFEL, Nepal Expedition
What we are looking for
We are always on the lookout for good leaders for our overseas adventurous school expeditions, who will help to ensure safe and enjoyable experiences for all our schools when abroad. You will join our leaders' register and we will contact you when we have work for which you are qualified and that we think may interest you. Please note that before we work with you for the first time, we will need a personal meeting to review your qualifications and experience, and for you to ask any questions you may have.
We really appreciate our leaders - many of them work with us year after year. Having an excellent leader who contributes that little bit 'extra' really makes the difference to the enjoyment of the School Leader/s and their Expedition Team.
"I've worked for many expedition companies and Far Frontiers Expeditions are the best"
What background and experience do you need?
You'll need to be that special someone who can encourage young people to experience the expedition to the full as well as provide support to the School Leader/s. In addition to this you will need to ensure that the pre-planned and pre-booked logistics run smoothly in the background. You should be prepared to attend one of our regular leaders' briefing days which are held at our Head Office in Northleach.
You must have the following as an absolute minimum:
Enhanced CRB / DBS disclosure certificate
Current first-aid certificate
In addition you must have a technical qualification relevant to the trip we'd like you to lead (see below).
Most of our trips require the Mountain Leader (Summer) Award as a minimum.
However depending on the expedition, alternative qualifications such as ML (Winter), IML, or mountain biking, canoeing or rafting may be required. We'd also like to know of any previous relevant work you have done with young people, areas of the world you are familiar with, and any languages you speak.
We are a DofE AAP so we are especially keen to hear from those of you who are qualified as DofE Gold Assessors.
If you would like to join our leaders' register, please complete this form to request a Registration Form.
