The Role – Expedition Sales Manager ( pdf pdf (408 KB) )

Reports to - Director of Sales - The aim of the role is to generate and maintain new business. You will be a ‘people-person’ whose outstanding school sales ability will ensure confident recruitment and retention of teacher and student teams for our amazing overseas school expeditions.

The role will include but not be restricted to:

  • Business Growth and Sales
  • Proactively work to achieve (or exceed) your own agreed quarterly sales targets
  • Build an excellent and ongoing relationship with allocated Key Accounts
  • Support the company Lead Generation plan by creating opportunities for growth of new business
  • Carry out confident cold calling to targeted new schools
  • Undertake inspirational face to face sales meetings
  • Launching expeditions at school assemblies and parent-pupil presentations at both new and existing client schools, maximising numbers attending and hence booking (these may be weekday evenings or weekends)
  • Accurate updating and reporting using our Client Relationship Management system (CRM) ‘Salesforce’
  • Administrative tasks that require timely, efficient and accurate completion
  • Other tasks related to our business as required

Training and benefits will include:

  • OTE £35-40K per annum (includes £25K basic + uncapped commission based on our current company bonus structure)
  • Full training will be given. Any previous knowledge of school expeditions abroad will be useful

Further Information
  • This role will be carried out in accordance with the current Far Frontiers staff handbook, policies and procedures
  • Annual leave must be agreed in advance as there will be restrictions based on business need
  • Our standard office hours are 40 per week
  • The office is open 0830hrs to 1700hrs Mon–Fri excluding bank holidays
  • We offer 30 days’ holiday a year inclusive of bank holidays
  • Our offices are closed for at least a full week in the Christmas/New Year period, and you will be required to take annual leave at this time
  • Like the rest of the team you will join our 24hr support team which offers out of hours telephone and/or office expedition support while our trips are abroad, which is generally during school holidays
  • You agree to sign a confidentiality clause
  • This is a full time role and carries a 6 month probation period
