We are very pleased to announce that Far Frontiers Expeditions has received approved guiding company status. This means we can officially organise our own expeditions to Mount Vinson and to the Antarctic Continent. There are a restricted number of companies in the world that have this privilege. Our company has put people on the summit of Everest and Makalu and have conducted expeditions on other 8,000m and 7,000m peaks. We have been organising journeys to the Antarctic Peninsula, Falkland Islands and South Georgia, using expedition ships and, in 2010, our MD Christopher Short was with a party that successfully completed the Shackleton Ski Traverse on South Georgia. He has led 6 expeditions to the Antarctic in the last few years, including several for the Royal Geographical Society (with IBG).
We are planning our first expedition to Mount Vinson in January 2018 and are hoping that the team will be led by Austrian UIAGM Christoph Hobenreich, who travelled with our MD on the ski traverse in 2010. The Antarctic continent is like nowhere else on the planet and it is a privilege to be able to offer people the opportunity to experience and discover its wonders.
